    ???----You would have to swap the driveshaft.----OR it would be simple to swap the clutch dog and reverse gear.----But what if there is low oil pressure or shift piston is not moving correctly ???----Your location ?

    You need to make sure everything is in order.----One plugged main jet and you could be doing the job over again.----After this epic struggle I doubt you want to do that.----Good luck with it.

    Not inspecting carburetors on a rebuilt motor is a mistake.----Torqued the flywheel ?----Checked the flywheel key ?

    A 9.9 or 15 HP is the same pump.-----Has been the same pump from 1974 to 2005 or so.----Never an issue with them.

    I would not try to use a 1979 140 gearcase on a prop rated 175.----It might fit / work for a little while till it comes to a dynamic halt.

    The 150 and 175 are a direct fit.-----Is yours a 20 " or 25" motor?"----Others motors will fit if you understand swapping driveshaft and shift rod.

    Take the cylinder head off now.-----Lucky you if it is a blown head gasket.----There is no need to go 100:1 on a motor in good condition.----Bad idea !!

    From 1991 to 2007 years.----And they must be the 60 degree looper.----Others may fit but may require driveshaft / shif rod swap.
