    Once again the fact that you are a novice is evident.----That little tube ( off to the side ) in the nozzle is supposed to be like that.-----It is not " bent " as you assume !!!-----And that is NOT the main jet.----It is called a nozzle.-----Main jet is in the bottom of the float bowl.

    You have to wonder why small aircraft have a lever marked ----" carburetor heat "----I believe that is meant to prevent carburetor icing !!!

    It is the basic principal of refrigeration.-----" An evaporating liquid needs heat "-----In a refrigerator the heat is pulled from your ice cream or other treats.

    That is a 1985 model.----These 70 HP motors have had a tell tale installed at the factory beginning in 1978 !!!!

    These hulls are " foam filled " I believe.----Checked for water in the foam ?-----Weighed the boat ?-----That motor ( 1983 ? ) needs a new impeller about every 5 years.----If it overheated severely you should do a compression test.---Cylinder head is warped.-----Refinsh to be flat.----Install...

    Remove bypass cover ( 6 wee bolts ) for #1 and post picture of piston / rings.

    Post picture of the damage.--Hit something really hard at full throttle ?-------Was gearcase full of water and it froze ?----Failure when running at full throttle?-----Gears broken ?----Post all the information you can.

    These motors need a new water pump impeller about evert 5 years.-----Simple to do.

    The fuel evaporates.-----That requires heat.-----Therfor the carburetor get cold.----Then moisture from the air condenses on the cold metal.-----No different than a beer can or glass on a hot day.----Simple as that.
