    Maybe try a factory pump cover.----New style with o-ring.-----Or older style with flat gasket.-----Simple solutions are always best.-----You will have this motor running correctly soon !!

    The 225 HP is a V-6-----This motor is a V-4.-----Many part interchange.

    My wild guess is 1990 model.----Check this thing over very carefully !!-----Looks like it might have been in accident or hurricane damage.-----Remove high speed carburetor jet and post the number on it.

    Check for spark.----Sounds like it is running on 1 cylinder.----Good spark must be able to jump a 3/8" gap.

    I use West System epoxy.---More $$ but does not have that awful smell.
