    Agreed.-----I have a 17' boat ( 25 " transom ) rated for 150 HP.-----A V-6 Evinrude 150 is 375 LBS and I have that motor.-----A new 4 cylinder150 HP 4 stroke list at 531 LBS.-----An easy decision for me to go with Evinrude..----The 4 strokes are popular , heavy and expensive !

    Note.----I have the timing fixtures.---Timing fixtures are nothing but a " time saving dummy flywheel " in my opinion.-----You can use the meter to time opening of the points.---Rotate flywheel to line up timing marks.----Lift flywheel off and adjust points to just open.

    Intake and exhaust ports are WIDE OPEN at the bottom of the stroke.----Cylinder is full of air then.-----Compression does not start till piston closes exhaust ports.-----When you understand how things work it is much easier to trouble shoot !!

    These off shore companies are reducing the weight of new motors.----There is now no " meat " on them to make repairs.------Give me an old 2 stroke , as repairs are easy to make.----Old 2 strokes use a bit more fuel but they are just wonderful and easy to repair !!
