    Before a sail boat race another boat asked us if they could borrow a tool to make repairs.------My skipper , owner off a 40' boat said afterwards----" you know if you have to carry lots of tools , maybe you should not be racing that boat "

    On a 5 masted ship it would be an issue if you said ----" pull on that rope "------There are a hundred of them.------That is why they came up with a system of lines.---Same goes for the sails on these things.

    Anchor line/rode size

    Line is rated for a certain load.----But that is when line is new.-----Anchor line tends to chafe and wear.-----So treat line with care and add a sleeve to protect it.

    ???----4:1 is quite a bit of oil.-----Won't be many skitters around if motor runs on that.------

    Low oil level in the oil tank ?----Try filling the oil tank and test run.----If the impeller was shredded you may need to do a compression test.----Post the values.

    The CD models were all 5.5 HP.------A 1959 parts catalogue would essentially be the same except for cowling pieces and color of the paint.

    Good luck with your trouble shooting then.---Or just replace the powerpack.----It fixes the issue 9 times out of 10.

    Evinrude family heirloom

    See the 2 little pins on the fuel tank.-----They are valves with an o-ring on them.-----When you plug in the fuel line one pin opens to let fuel out.----One pin vents the tank.-----These are great reliable tanks.----If inside of tank is clean than replace those o-rings.

    There is a " start / crank " in neutral only switch inside the control box.----It has nothing to do with " no spark condition "----Remove spark plugs.---Separate the big red plug.----Pull the motor over with a rope.----Spark should jump a gap of 3/8" with ease.-----Starter motor must be in good...

    Help with 1975 mercury 65hp

    Some will argue.----If you do not know how old the impeller is , it needs a new one..-----That motor may not shut down on overheat.----May not have an overheat warning horn.-----It would run until it jammed up !!----Not one of my favorite motors.

    Sounds like a faulty shift switch.-----So find the wires going into the drive.-----Apply 12 volts to green.----Should be forward.---Apply 12 volts to blue should be reverse.

    The grandson started his 1963 model 10 HP Johnson ( same as that 61 Evinrude ) when it was warmed up.-----He was 8 years old and suddenly asked if he could start it.----One pull is all it took.
