    Nope----The electromagnet did not move.----The electromagnet exerted a pull on a wrap spring.----That spring then grabbed on a drum attached to the gear.----Simple as could be !!

    Boyd----On that motor the oil would be mixed with the gas before going into the carburetors.----No different then mixing yourself at 50:1 in your tank.----So why your last statement in post #21 ?

    Beagle----I think you will find that bearings / crankshaft on the 24:1 model 57 are the same as say a 1967 model 20 HP.( same motor ).----That throws your improved bearing theory out the window.

    You often see it in November / December.-----Boat is for sale and has been winterized.-----Will not try and start it for you as it is winterized.-----Also means , good luck with it in the spring if you buy such a unit.

    Cylinder not firing.-----Could be no spark. ---Or too much fuel.----Or no fuel.---Or no compression in the cylinder.----Or no compression in the crankcase.-----Does spark on all leads jump a gap of 3/8" or more on a test device , yes or no ?

    They all sound good ( bark and roar ) on a hose.-----In the water open the low speed mixture needles 1/8th turn at a time .----Bogging might go away.
