    Nope.-----I do not believe the cam is the issue.----Position of the flywheel is determined by the TAPERS on flywheel and crankshaft.-----Check assembly / position of magplate and retainer plate !

    Simple----Put shift lever in neutral.------Rotate magneto plate till it hits the interlock bar.-----Find this on the starboard side of the block.-----That is your start position.

    Your motor needs certain things to run correctly.----It has 2 ignition systems ( one for each cylinder )-----It needs fuel and not too much fuel.----Spark at the right time.----Compression in the cylinder.-----Compression in the crankcase.----Correct propeller fitted to match the type boat you have.

    Oh well----Most folks start on these motors by cleaning the carburetor.----So give that a try.-----If that does not get the results you are hoping for then take a stab at something else.---I think there are many tutorial videos on u-tube that cover this popular series of motors.--------Sorry.

    you need an outboard tachometer that runs off the alternator.------Some control boxes are prewired where you plug in the tachometer.-----some have a gray wire and purple for power and a black ground.

    Did you find the high speed jets ( orifice plugs ) 3 of them.----You find it in the carburetor bowl way in behind the drain plug.----Water pump impeller changed ?----Compression test results need to be posted.
