    ???----I am in the process of scrapping a bunch of midsections today.-----Wrench on one nut and wrench on the other and in a few seconds the tube is in the scrap pile.

    76 6 horse long shaft . Special instructions

    They used the same pump impeller from about 1954 to 1978.-----For the 79 models they used a different pump.-----Smaller impeller.-----So at a dealer you would get the correct parts for your 76 model.-----Or you can fit the 79 model pump on your motor if you get the complete upgrade kit.

    Is the VRO in service ?----Tested ?----Did seller say you had to mix gas and oil at 50:1 ratio ?------Model # of this motor ?

    Yes----And a decal of say a fish or butterfly to hide any cosmetic / matching issue.

    That pump was first used in 1968.----Used as late as 2007 as well as a modified version and as a vapor extraction pump on the V-4 and V-6 model up to 175 HP

    The diaphragm may not be listed for your 1973 model.----But there is a list as long as your arm (200 models or so ) of motors that use the pump and that same diaphragm.

    Factory kit comes with instructions .---Guaranteed not to be " chinesium " parts.---Fix it right the first time.-----And really the diaphragm is the only thing that fails !!!----Available $4.54 as a part by itself.

    Sorry ----Too far away for me to help you.----There is a 6 digit casting number on that housing.-----Most experienced shops would be able to help you I think.----Put a hundred gearcases on a pile and I think I could pick out one to fit a 78 model 115 HP.

    Check fuel pump diaphragm.----Test run with another tank and hose.----Tachometer would need to run of the magneto ( rare item ) I think.-----Or look into a ----tiny tachometer -----Using google.

    About the only thing that can go wrong with the fuel pump is the diaphragm $6.00 or so and dirt on the check valves .----Easy inspection and fix.----Otherwise you are not learning by " trying " another pump !
