    Spare wheel hub... usefull?

Well... what's funny is that you keep right on going with this. You have shied away from talking to me directly, but now continue in a rather childish and indirect, passive-aggressive style. I don't mind listening to other people's ideas and opinions. Heck, I certainly have mine but if you...

    Spare wheel hub... usefull?

The equalizer system was strapped up with 2 ratchet cargo straps and further, the tire pressure was dropped in the affected tire to increase load to the other wheels in order to minimize damage. It wasn't their time to blow? When is it time for a no maintenance bearing to blow? One would figure...

    Spare wheel hub... usefull?

LOL! No, no... you weren't claiming "defect". Don't try and snake your way out of this. You have claimed "no maintenance". All 4 were handled the same way and saw the same lifestyle. If they suffered the same lack of maintenance, then logically speaking, all 4 would suffer a similar fate. And it...

    Spare wheel hub... usefull?

Again, you didn't answer the question. How come the other 3 didn't blow if they receive the same "no maintenance" of the other one.... particularly if they have to take on a portion of the workload of the 4th blown bearing? Stop playing puzzy-foot and answer the question

    Spare wheel hub... usefull?

I asked you a question and you skated around it. Why? It's a double axle trailer. All four have drum brakes, all 4 get the similar heat, see similar distance, all 4 are the same age. If one blows due to "no maintenance" then how come the other 3 didn't?

    Spare wheel hub... usefull?

So if it had "no maintenance" then it is logical to assume the other 3 on the trailer had "no maintenance" either. How come they didn't blow too?

    Spare wheel hub... usefull?

Meh, Lack of experience with all the grease is all, not "laz" or lack of trying. As far as I know, no human has ever popped out of the womb, grabbed a grease gun and knew exactly what to do with it. We all learn through our attempts and failures. No biggie.

Anyone use a 2017 kia Sorrento AWD/4wd high output engine?

I wouldn't call you an "overkill" guy. We each have our own level of comfort. Nothing wrong with that.

    Spare wheel hub... usefull?

Well... just for clarification, that's a cooked bearing which had been opened up on the highway and had ditch water dumped on every few miles for the last 50 or 75. If you open your eyes instead of being as judgmental as you are, you can see a bead of water hanging off the bottom of it and ask...

    Spare wheel hub... usefull?

Well... if you messed up all the time then yes, you should be fired, but most businesses (if smart) have a certain amount of human error already worked into the overhead because nobody is perfect. Well, I wasn't exactly talking about the bearings but rather the axle shaft seals into the diff...

    Spare wheel hub... usefull?

YUP.... a perfect example of too much PM getting you into trouble and costing you money. Clearly this person didn't understand what PM is about, or how much is too much.

    Blue Sea Add a Battery

Not really, no. Contrary to popular belief, fuses are actually included in circuits not to protect the device(s) you may have connected, but rather the wiring which makes those connections. In the case of a short you want the fuse to blow instead of turning the wiring into a large heating...

    Oh well ;)

    Spare wheel hub... usefull?

Agreed The flaw in your thinking however is that the PM will be performed correctly each time. If you are human you make mistakes and it doesn't matter how good you are at the task you are performing. That's a simple fact. Maybe you didn't sleep well the night before. Maybe you have something...

    Spare wheel hub... usefull?

Wow... pretty aggressive and angry. How come? I'm a 3rd class power engineer who has spent the last 45 years as a backyard mechanic (as hobby) building cars, trucks, and jeeps, etc. I pull motors on my own, rebuild them on my own, do all of my own tear-downs .. and yes... I also pack bearings...

    Spare wheel hub... usefull?

Well, I think BALANCE is the key word there. Preventative maintenance is a good thing... unless there is too much of it. ------------------------------------------------ Why too much maintenance is just as bad as not enough One of the objectives of a good PM or predictive maintenance (PdM)...

    Porta-Potti

I believe what they are talking about is any pump action marine toilet connected to a holding tank which can be pumped out at the dock. That involves an outlet on the side of the boat connected to a macerating pump My boat has a toilet like this: and it is connected to a sewage holding tank...

Anyone use a 2017 kia Sorrento AWD/4wd high output engine?

I would suggest if the trailer tires broke loose then that is proof the brakes worked and had they not, the Cherokee probably would have been pushed all the way through the intersection instead of just 1/2 way. Stopping distances are longer with trailers and that's a fact of life regardless to...

    Spare wheel hub... usefull?

And I get a laugh out of people who seem to place all their eggs in one basket You can do all the preventative maintenance in the world and although it MAY minimize the chance of a highway breakdown, It doesn't stop it. At the end of a day, you are either prepared to handle a breakdown on the...

Anyone use a 2017 kia Sorrento AWD/4wd high output engine?

Well, I'm not sure what the laws are where you are but here anything over 3000# needs it own brakes plus auto break away braking, so assuming your trailer brakes are in good order it's not really an issue.
