    Won't start?

    '85 Mercruiser V6 4.3L Well, I got everything put back together from removing the heads. now I can't get it to start? Motor is turning and it's getting fuel and there is spark but it just won't fire! I did get a small backfire and a puff of smoke from the exhaust on the starboard side.

    Distributor install?

    '85 Mercruiser V6 I'm trying to re-install my distributor but I can only get it about 1/4" from mounting flush, I have the grove at the bottom lined up for the oil pump. I'm TDC, I haven't turned the motor since it was removed. Any ideas? If I try to turn the rotor, it's tight with no play.

    RTV sealant with risers?

    Can I use RTV sealant along with the gaskets where my risers connect to the exhaust manifolds? I want to ensure that water dosent leak back into the engine.

    I have a GM 4.3l V6 I'm trying to find out more info on it I have (finally) found the block # 10105867 and the year made # E099 but I can't find out how to translate the manufacture # so I know when it was made. Any ideas?
