    You can buy a universal motor alignment bar on ebay for around $100. They are a valuable tool to have.

    For towing that distance, I would not rely on bow and cockpit covers. I would either tow without or get a one piece road cover or have it shrink wrapped.

    I`ve never had one that was free spinning, meaning you could not flick it with your finger and have it spin like a skateboard wheel. It`s probably good to use. I have ordered parts from Leaders before and have been happy.

    You might get lucky and just have a bad transom plate seal rather than a flexing, rotten transom. Sealant might get you through the season but should not be permanent. You need to see if the seal is bad or if the transom is rotten.

    I would start by cleaning out the thermostat housing. You will probably find you pieces of the impeller in there.

    Like I said, I dont have that engine and mine is seawater cooled but I would think there should be a steady flow of cooler water through the lines and fuel cell. Check and make sure water is flowing, check for a clogged line or nipple. Hopefully you will find it.
