    Anode Replacement Question

    Replacing the Magnesium (fresh water) anode on my DPS-A outdrive this year. I have recently repainted the outdrive this off season. Do I need to sand down to bare metal, to allow metal to metal contact between the bottom of the anode and the aluminum drive housing?

    Needing to change my lower unit oil in the coming weeks. My DPS-A . I believe it calls for synthetic 75-90w, gl-5, non limited slip. Where I live it is difficult to find "non limited slip" oil. Is it safe to use synthetic limited slip of the same weight? What harm could be done by doing so.

    Cheap fuel cells on Ebay

    What year and what engine unit are you dealing with? I was able to disassemble mine and clean it relatively easy. That being said it might be worth a chance. They appear to be rebuilt/refurbished units, not new Chinese manufactured.

    I'm going to have to replace my U joint and exhaust bellows on my dps-a here in a few days. Do I have to remove the Gimbal ring and Pivot housing in order to achieve this or can I squeeze them in between the ring and the transom shield and still be able to secure them down properly?
