First time pulling a riser with questions about condition w pics

I know money is always a factor but if you can, I would just replace all the manifolds and risers. But definitely replace the risers.

    Help with DPS-B 1.95 outdrive

I sounds like you made a wise choice. For a hundred bucks more to get a guaranteed American made product, probably the better value. I think as long as you clean/change the filter screen you will not need to replace your injectors. I would just swap out the pump and try it, if you still have a...

    Help with DPS-B 1.95 outdrive

What did you pay for the new fuel pump? I have noticed you can buy the whole assembly on ebay for $200 these days, granted they are a knock off, but at least an option to the $1K OEM. Before I had any problems I took it upon myself to disassemble my pump during an off season and refurbished...

    Help with DPS-B 1.95 outdrive

The tool is for the motor only. In my opinion, you need to figure out if the stalling issues are in the engine or the drive. I think you still need to pull the drive and see why you lost so much oil. Is the drive locking up the engine or are they separate issues.

    Help with DPS-B 1.95 outdrive

You might consider purchasing a Rhinda diagnostic tool, not cheap but they are real nice to have. It would show any engine codes being thrown into the ECM. I bit the bullet a couple years ago and use mine frequently.

    Help with DPS-B 1.95 outdrive

Being that you are a quart low, there could be some drive damage as your upper gears and clutch would not have much lubrication. I would pull the drive and see if you can turn the input shaft manually. If it does not turn by hand at the input shaft, then you probably have upper end damage...

    Will it work??

They may be compatable. I think you will need to look at the mating surfaces of the old and the new. While basically the same there was a rubber gasket change between the drive housing and the pivot housing in that era of drives. You dont say exactly how much you are swapping, the entire transom...

    Will it work??

You need to tell us what model of drives you are talking about rather than part numbers. If in doubt, post pictures of the two.

DP-SM Raw water hose fitting stuck

I think you are gonna have to get on that clamp screw somehow and loosen it. Then you can pull the hose off the backside. FYI-there is a window cut in the pivot housing that should allow you to reach the clamp screw, but apparently the previous owner did not align that properly. You should be...

    Removing impeller

The four small O rings go onto the bolts to keep them from sliding out of the impeller housing and dropping into the bilge.

Be sure to coat any mating surfaces of the drive with Triple guard grease to prevent this sticking from happening next time.

    Removing impeller

Can you just remove the brass pump from the hoses and bring in the garage. Then try several bolts and find one to fit the threads. Once you have a bolt that will fit, put the pump housing in a padded vice and pull on the bolt, wiggle a bit if necessary, and pull the impeller out. I`ve never...

    Removing impeller

They can be tight, especially when dry. Try lubricating the sidewalls with a rubber tolerant lubricant such as silicone spray, or even water and pull it out with needle nose plyers in a rotational movement based on the direction of the vanes.

    Long Period of Storage

I`d change the engine oil, even if you did it before your put her in storage. Change the impeller and drive and shift bellows.

    Mercuiser vs VP 380

There is probably a significant weight difference between the 6.2 aluminum block and the cast iron 8.2. Probably explains the plane time.

    Winterising Q

I re-use the O ring to keep the pump from leaking antifreeze. I store impeller over the winter in a ziplock bag coated in glycerine.

    Winterising Q

I pull my impeller each winter and replace again in the spring. I feel I get an extra year or so out of the impeller by doing this. it prevents the same vanes from being bent over for six months at a time. I also release the tension on my serp belt for the winter. Helps lengthen the life of the...

    winterise 4.3L V6 280 C

It probably would result in a richer than 50:1 mix, but I`ve done it this way for years and it seems to achieve the same results with a lot less hassle. I always change my filter each year, it`s just an easy way to achieve the same result.
