    Trailering clips?

I use them when I am towing the boat. Peace of mind, not that much of an inconvenience.

4.3 GL Engine Mount Bolt replacement

FYI- I`ve found it helpful if you give the new bolt a liberal coating of marine grease while installing. It helps protect the new bolt form this same scenario in the future.

    Trim sender calibration Procedure EVC

I think once the ohms are set on the unit itself and the unit installed the rest is done on the dash gage itself. My multi function gage has a setting that asks if the drive is up or down and you answer yes or no and enter.

Maintenance on garboard or brass plug that is leaking.

I would unscrew and discard that old plug and ring, check the surface underneath for rot. If good, I would clean up the area underneath, purchase a new plug assembly and reinstall with a good backing of 5200. I also like to coat my plug threads with Teflon tape or thread seal.

    DPS-A corrosion

I just used the regular JB Weld. As for paint, I just used the Volvo SX silver right out of a spray can, then sprayed with clear coat. Not going to lie, at the end of the year, the drive is dirty and will need a good cleaning, but the corrosion has never come back.

    DPS-A corrosion

Ideally that might be what you need to do but like you said, some steps are not available. When I did mine, I just sanded down to bare metal, filled with JB weld paste, resanded and primed with zinc chromate and painted over that. After four years it is still good. One of the main things to...

Thanks for the follow up, glad your back to normal.

    DPS-A corrosion

I would address that immediately, not fatal now but it will only get worse which could lead to bigger troubles. I would pull the drive and use a brass wire brush or coarse sandpaper and get the corrosion off and down to bare metal. Then prime with zinc chromate primer and repaint with Volvo...

    Cracked Block???

Once you confirm the cracked block, I would act quickly and get a replacement ordered. If you wait to long, you may not be able to secure one easily as they may sell out. When I repowered, I had good luck with Michiganmotorz.

    Cracked Block???

I doubt that the Homeowners policy will cover it, it usually requires a stand alone boat policy and even with that freeze is generally not covered. Probably time to start looking for a replacement block.

    Engines: 2 x 4.3GXi or 1 x 5.7Gxi

The twin engines will give you better maneuverability around the dock. But you will have twice the maintenance and winterization expenses.

When to change bellows on a SX-A drive?

I would go ahead and plan on pulling the drive and not just for the bellows. It is a procedure that needs to be done annually to inspect not only the bellows but also the gimble, input shaft and alignment. It`s best to catch any problems early rather than to let those parts sit in water for...

Should i replace the pickup coil?

I might go ahead and replace it while you are in the area, being 21 yrs old. My experience with aftermarket parts are hit or miss. Sometimes they work just fine , but I have had some stuff that did not. Might be worth a try.

Unexplained rain water on new deck boat

You might try to re treat your cover with a waterproofing solution such as 3M`s. Also make sure that it has good support poles properly placed not allowing any water to pool.

Starting an engine that's been sitting...

I`d try to run it with the gas in the tank. Try to start it at home and see if it will run before going to the lake. If it will not run right, you may have to pump the bad gas out and refill with good gas. You may get lucky and not need anything.

Problem with engine mount - how to remove?

Agree with others. Remove the drive first and then remove rear engine mount nuts to allow it to move upwards. Make your fixes on the front mounts then lower back down and re-align.
