    1988 3.0 and 1994 3.0 swap

I have a 1994 seapro with a mercruiser 3.0 engine it's starting to show signs of oil blow by pretty bad. I checked the compression and all cylinders were around 130psi. The engine runs pretty good for the most part the with the only issue being that when I come off plane it ideals around...

MC-1 transom + cork gasket, to seal or not to seal?

Ok I can see using sealer on the bottom 2 bolts for extra measures but if you expect the o-ring seals to leak then you should also expect the transom seal to leak

MC-1 transom + cork gasket, to seal or not to seal?

That's the way I took it as well. So one would say no sealer needed on the mounting bolts correct? Am I wrong in thinking that if water can make it to the mounting bolts that there's a penetration for water to enter much larger then the bolt holes

MC-1 transom + cork gasket, to seal or not to seal?

Are the bolts not on the inside of the sealing area

MC-1 transom + cork gasket, to seal or not to seal?

How? If water is getting into the area of the transom mount bolts then that means it's getting past the seal on the transom mount does it not ?

MC-1 transom + cork gasket, to seal or not to seal?

No need to use sealer as the transom seal seals water from getting to the bolt holes as well. If water does make it thru the transom seal then it would come in the giant hole in the transom and not the bolt holes..

Still having shift issues and need / like some input

Yeah just a pain because I have literally dumped about 800 into the shifting issue and the lower shift cable that was found to be the problem is brand new but aftermarket. When I would measure the play in the lower shift cable it would be in spec but what I didn't realize is there was more play...

    Altenator and Starter Replacement

The reason behind this is automotive Starters/Alternators do not have the required plates to contain the sparks that are made inside these devices from exacaping which could and most likely will result in an onboard fire since the engine is confined to a small space that doesn't really vent the...

Ok problem fixed I replaced the lower shift cable Again ( keep in mind this was a brand new cable only on the water 1 time ) replaced it with an oem cable. But what I found when I removed old cable was a bent cable end so i'm thinking this was actually the problem but replaced the whole cable

WOT RPM too high. Where is the slip?

Before you go replacing the tach on the back there is a switch to change the tach for the engine cylinders you have. Use a screwdriver and switch that back and forth a few time sometimes they get dirty and moving them around cleans the contacts..

Still having shift issues and need / like some input

Yes it is at 12:00 to the best I can tell I'm going to try and check the shift shaft rotational end play without removing the drive if I can't I will remove the drive and just have to pickup another gasket ....... i've went through about 15 gaskets dealing with this problem but no way am I gonna...

Still having shift issues and need / like some input

I have been fighting shifting issues with my Alpha 1 gen 2 drive with s/n 0F321918 for a few years. It started out ratcheting 1 day out of the blue In forward gear so I made an adjustment to the control cable to get off the water. Once I got home I adjusted the cables using the method on youtube...
