    I would buy either a marine battery with threaded posts. Or buy the lead clamps that have the threaded posts and use those. How do you have those other cables terminated?

    What do the other set of large cables go to. You can't put a ring terminal on the clamp bolt like that. Since they don't sit flat you get a bad connection.

    Loose connections. Especially if you have wing nuts on the battery.

    The early 4 strk carbed motors were notorious for carb problems. Most of it was because they were so lean at an idle.

    The Suzuki is an excellent motor. Problem is Suzuki has not kept up with parts supply. No aftermarket support for them. The aftermarket is taking up a lot of slack for the OMC motors. Nothing for Suzukis that old. That Suzuki is as obsolete as my McCulloch 75 hp.

    Take the intake off and make sure all the bolts are out. Where did you find a camshaft on a 1980 evinrude 35 hp?

    He is burning a gallon an hour of fuel at 3/4 throttle. Explain how that motor is not running lean. Don't know what's confusing about it.

    I owned that exact motor THats ok if your #s are right that motor will burn down soon enough. No way does it survive with that little fuel in it. We will see you in the Merc section soon enough.
