    Get rid of the electric fuel pump. If you have the Vro put it back on and just delete the oil side. If not buy the pump off of an 88 hp and put that on. What happens if you pump the primer ball?

    If your johnson 15 hp is a 74-76 it has a points magneto. Not worth the swap.

    If you have an actual electric fuel pump get rid of it. They are nothing but problems. Find the correct mechanical pump from a 1980 V6 and use that.

    You should not have an electric fuel pump on that motor. The wires off the VRO pump are for a sensor not the pump itself. Check compression and spark.

    That motor has the tell tale connected directly to the thermostat. pretty specific to the 2.5 merc motors also done on the smaller 25 hp motors. I think you are looking for problems that are not there.

    I do not know how you are getting a 2026 delivery on an NLA piston. A little more looking on your part. I can't put the website up because it is a competitor. they say 10+ in stock have found them to be quite on top of their inventory.

    Why not? The thermostat only opens at 143 deg not abnormal for a motor to run hotter than that.

    Are you dropping a ski or getting up on one? I had one of those with an 85 Evinrude on it and 48-50 was my top speed. It would also be my last choice for a ski boat.
