    1988 50hp Evinrude tilt/trim sensor

The trim sending unit is usually a plastic switch that goes up and down with the motor. A continuity test will help you test that. It could also be your gauge.

    Flywheel occasionally locks up

Check to make sure the new stator is not binding first. If that is ok then pull the lower unit off and try it.

    Carrier bearing Merc9.9 2001 ? Left hand threads? Serial # OT216073. Part# 42144t3

I did not say they were good but there are 2 different versions. The design 1 has a bushing and design 2 has bearings. Mercury sells that lower unit brand new for around a $1000. I am also pretty sure that the older bushing can be replaced with the newer bearings.

    No pee Johnson outboard

What temp is this motor running at? If you have water coming out the exhaust holes you more than likely have flow through the motor.

1993? Mercury 20hp craigslist score diagnosis

120 is good compression. Does it run? Cause if it runs it has more than 62 psi of compression. Did you pull until the gauge stopped moving. minimum 5 pulls with cord. Igt is also strange they are both 62

1988 Johnson 110 vro v4 sputtering at idle

This would be the pump that is correct. But the one you have will work fine as long as you get rid of the pulse limiter. And get those compression #s 100 is not good for that motor. 0433387

1988 Johnson 110 vro v4 sputtering at idle

You would use a different pump for mounting there. The pulse port on the correct pump is built into it.

1988 Johnson 110 vro v4 sputtering at idle

That needs to be removed and replaced with a straight nipple. You also need to do another compression test. And get good quality black fuel hose clear line sucks.

Johnson Evinrude 15 vs Nissan Tohatsu 9.8

I personally like the Cable tillers better. On the older ones the tiller always has to be inline or you risk breaking expensive gears. The cable tillers allow more flexibility and they are longer so more comfortable.

1988 Johnson 110 vro v4 sputtering at idle

That is a pulse limiter and has to be removed for the fuel pump you are using. That pulse limiter is for the VRO pump only and can prevent standard pumps from working correctly. Go buy a straight brass nipple and install it. What are your compression #s? Those motors are famous for breaking the...

1988 Johnson 110 vro v4 sputtering at idle

Do a compression test before anything. What Fuel pump are you using? Did you remove the Blue VRO Nipple and replace it with a standard brass nipple?
