    The motor should run longer than 4 seconds with carburetors full of fuel.----Are you pushing the key in for cold starting ?----Are you pushing key in as needed when motor falters?----Outline your starting procedure here.----Do you understand what the electric primer does and how it works ?

    I Think it means AOK condition.----They just left the O out to save ink.

    Step #1 is to drop the lower unit.----Operate shift rod and see if it shifts.----Check gear oil.----Then repair as needed.

    Simple for me.---Find a suitable non running motor.----Pay a little for that motor.---Pay for parts to refurbish it to run like new.---Then you know what you have.

    Agreed with the above.----The lack of technical / motor knowledge of many younger folks is amazing.----But they know all about their phones and remote controls for a smart TV !

    Closed cooling on that OMC sterndrive.-----Inspect that drive carefully.-----They are not on top of the " hit parade " in many areas.----Picture of the ball gear wear ?

    It clearly shows the regular pump installed.----I can't believe that previous owner thought that oil in the lower end would lube the powerhead.----So 2 stroke engines and outboard lubrication can be a mystery to some owners.

    It just has a regular fuel pump.-----So if the previous owner ran with straight gasoline , you need to do a compression test now !!

    Diesel locomotive engines drive a generator.----Electric motors drive the wheels.------Electric power / motors is easier to manage to send power to the wheels.-----Super high start up loads to get a loaded train moving.
