    There are lots of fuel pumps that can be adapted for that motor.----One from a 1968 3 HP to some 2000 model year of Johnon will work.----A 3 to 25 HP used that little square pump !

    Check item # 40.-----And 120 PSI is low for that motor.----Yes it is.----So test with a gauge.----Or remove cylinder head for a look.-----Head gasket is cheap.

    You meant to say with CHOKE closed it will run and then when you open choke flappers it stalls ? ---I think that means you need to revisit carburetor work.----Find the high speed jets ( orifice plugs ) in the carburetor bowls.---And what are the actual compression values.-----You can help...

    Should be easy to find in Michigan.---Southern Ontario as well.

    Running with 50:1 mix ??----Did you install a new water pump impeller ?----Tested the overheat horn ??----Changed gear oil in the lower unit ?

    Yes ----In forward gear it will click if turned CLOCKWISE and lock the other way and that is a fact.---- Somehow I think you seem doubtful or unwilling to believe it can an issue with the prop !

    Where did the replacement powerhead come from ?----Are both throttle plates closed at idle ??----If they are not closed , the idle circuit does not work.

    Nope----Most of the cooling water goes out with the exhaust.----End of the story.

    Mariner doesn’t go into forward or reverse.

    That lower unit had water in it and it froze.----Or the gears crunched up and jammed up the works .----Sheared the driveshaft.----I would declare this as a " parts motor "--And scrap value.-----See post #7

    Step #1 is a spark check.----Does spark jump a gap of 3/8" or better on all leads , yes or no ?

    He bought them and he owns them.-----Did you mark / identify them ??-----Unfortunately there are some folks who will buy stuff.----- Then install it and try to return their junk to you.----Rare but it does happen.

    Water that is pumped to the powerhead must be returned to the lake !

    They did the correct bypass.----But you need to [post the compression number here.-----If someone ran it for 2 hrs on straight gas it will result in many tear drops.-----Will take many beer tokens to correct.

    Yes some of the older, really old models had a shear pin.-----Not the one in the picture I think.

    What is the starting procedure ?----Explain in detail.----If the flywheel spins SLOW there will be no spark.----Some simple testing must be done.

    There is no thermostat !----Compression test is done through the sparkplug hole.-----And there is no " cylinder head " on that motor.
