    It would be interesting to find out how much your water pressure is when there is another tap wide open. I'm saying this because the water pressure is a nice thing, but what you need to know is how much volume you have with the tap open.

    I'm not at all sure that this is the original plug. At least on my pre 1972 outboards there is a rectangular little metal plate, which is the same color as the rest of the lower unit, that is held in place by 2 screws. It is called a "cover plate"

    Since this is an outboard, the carburetor should be readily accessible. Usually running until it runs out of gas does not completely empty out the carb.     I will certainly go through the 2bbl again and try to get that whole setup up to the best performance possible. Siera claims that its aftermarket quadrajet is made in Canada These are remanufactured carbs that's why I wondered if you have any experience with it

    Yep, the devil is so often in the details. Just this afternoon I took out the flame arrestor and completely cleaned it. A lot of junk came out, It made me understand why the plugs were turning black. Now thanks to you, I will take out the floor and check out the fuel intake and screen.

    Connect alternator outputs of two motors to battery bank

    I presume that one is a kicker for trolling while the other is the main engine. If you are not sure, the easy solution is to connect both alternators, but to run only one engine at a time.
