How to install these seat posts?

Thanks and for water getting in the hole, these seats won't be in place 90% of the time which leaves a 3/4 inch hole into the foam. I thought maybe a plug but it would have to somehow be 1/4 inch below the bottom of the base plate which would mean building a box below it.

How to install these seat posts?

I bought the 7x7 seat bases that are used for the pin post seats. They are exactly what I want however the boat I am installing them into is an older one with a fibreglass deck and I assume foam below deck. These post bases go down about an inch or so but that is fine if I seal the top lip...

    Sea Ray tow

If the numbers scott is saying are correct - which I assume so - then you are in for a hell of a ride if you try and tow that. I would look at getting rid of the ford and replacing it with a half ton if you plan to tow often. If it is a single trip and never again then I would pay someone to do...

Adding a GPS unit to a bowrider

Interesting option of using a tablet, I think I would rather avoid them mainly because I can see the same issues as my phone happening, ie chance of it going overboard. For me I don't care about the fish finder part of things since this boat is the sport/fun boat and the other is fishing. Not...

Adding a GPS unit to a bowrider

I have no pictures of my dash and can't get them as it's still shrink-wrapped until May. I'm looking for more general and how others have done yeah. Fully aware specific advice is out of the question but general should give me an idea of how I can do it to look into parts and other options...

Adding a GPS unit to a bowrider

With my bowrider I don't have much space next to the steering wheel on the dash that I could drill into. As for having someone install it for me, I was just talking to him about what options I have since he does work on my boat for me and he brought up the fiberglass option to make it look...

Care to share the rough area? I'm guessing US but hopefully not

Adding a GPS unit to a bowrider

I am considering adding a GPS unit to my 2018 Glastron GT 185. Currently, I use my phone with the Navionics app however it's in a phone mount on the side window and I have had the phone fall a few times from different mounts I have tried. I am worried about my phone going overboard. Would also...

Considering moving and changing my type of boat(ing) and want opinions

I don't think I would go far though I do enjoy sitting out on the water on a windy day (inland lakes) and reading and just enjoying the day alone since no one else wants to come out with me.

Considering moving and changing my type of boat(ing) and want opinions

I live in Canada so NY is out plus there are just some things that make NY not attractive to me that are outside boating forum topics. I'd be worried about going out on Lake Ontario with just a 19 footer, I've done some bays and hiding behind islands on it and while not terrible it definitely...

Considering moving and changing my type of boat(ing) and want opinions

The great lakes and the ocean bay I am looking at are pretty similar waters from what I have read. As for moving closer to the great lakes and being more lakes... right now I have tons of lakes near me and I live in a city on the great lakes, the city/area I am looking at has only the great...

Considering moving and changing my type of boat(ing) and want opinions

That's not really an option for me, the main place I am looking at moving to is a 17-hour drive away so taking a day trip isn't possible so just trying to figure out how much boat I need before I spend too much money traveling to check out the area more. I'm still in the idea phase of things.

Considering moving and changing my type of boat(ing) and want opinions

Interesting about the job switch and how that worked out. For me I'm remote so thankfully I will never have to deal with location changes so I'm trying to find a spot that is a good one long term and settle down there instead of my last few years of moving every 12 months (or less). Picking the...

Considering moving and changing my type of boat(ing) and want opinions

I have been looking at some ~25-30ft and they seem not bad, though I do worry that a windy day is a no boating day compared to where I am now it is just a crappy day on the water.

Considering moving and changing my type of boat(ing) and want opinions

I am looking at moving cities/provinces and the areas I am looking don't exactly have much for inland lakes like I am used to. I'm hoping to get some different opinions on what kind of boating I would be looking at for a mix of enjoyment (cruising, tubing, skiing, etc) and fishing on either the...

What to look for in a project boat? Plus a few other questions

I've never owned an aluminum boat so forgive my ignorance, how do you attach the deck and seats to the hull if you don't weld on brackets?

What to look for in a project boat? Plus a few other questions

I have been tossing around the idea of building a project boat for fishing since I would like a project to work on as well as want a fishing boat of my own (currently use my fathers but seeing as I will be moving in 2-3 years it won't be close anymore). I have done a transom replacement before...

Updating the motor on an old boat

I'd love to buy him the engine he wants though likely not something we will go for, mainly because of the fact that he doesn't want to learn to take proper care of the engine.

Updating the motor on an old boat

I'd love to buy it back from him though he won't let me even offering to pay 2x what he paid me for it. As for what all he would want to be done, he likes the boat just has the idea that an older engine is not reliable enough and should upgrade it.
