    Bad seal in the drive. You'll need to remove the drive, pressure tested to see where it's leaking, and replace the seal

    Oh right. Still seems like a good way to have a leak at the transom seal to leave that bolt out, even if you glob sillycone into the hole.

    Sounds like an issue with your batteries or connections. Connections especially given your breakdown. Engine doesn't require much power once running. Don't see a pic posted. Neither I nor Google knows what a boat gard is.

    However, I'd start at the kill switch. It supplies your ignition power. Check the purple wire on both sides of the switch.

    Wonder if that bolt broke/corroded off. Remember that much of the beginning of this thread were half assed attempts to work around rot... Losing that bolt would go with a rotten transom.

    After mine failed the last time I didn't try to fix. Never even bothered to hook them back up when I did the engine swap, and disconnected the gauge when I was chasing gremlins a few weeks back. My to do list is always too long to even bypass the limit switch 😄

    Usually if the cable is bad, it activates the switch inappropriately. And then a lazy owner will disconnect the switch rather than replace the cable.
