    When it's running rough put the timing light on each wire and see if it's firing regularly. What's the timing advance plug?

    Disconnect one at a time the temp sensor and oil sensor to see if either/both are sounding the alarm. They're different from the gauge senders

    Wow, do you have one of those hats with the straws? BTW, while filling the gear lube the other day, I finally counted the number of pumps it took: 350. You're welcome.

    Shouldn't be any power to the relay with an open NS switch, so no click.

    no, buy the plugs anywhere. After breaking off a horribly rusted NGK, I've started using the AC delco MR43LTS, since they have some sort of rust proof alloy.

    That looks like just a standard auto SPDT fuel pump/whatever relay. But problem could be with the starter, starter solenoid, wiring. Go through the troubleshooting first in the stickies. Or don't, it's a $5 part that takes 30 seconds to swap...
