You mean this ol' thang? So yer thinkin' the mulch won't hold that 50?

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

The Johnson's off the stern. That transom looks so empty now. And I think I counted 37 unnecessary holes in the transom put there by some PO and filled with bathroom caulk or something.

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

We got the spigot installed in the water barrel, then removed the Johnson from the Kingfisher. Then I put it on the barrel to test. It fired right up on the second pull. Always was a reliable little motor. Fared me well over the last couple years. Now you know that the boy enjoyed doing his...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Couldn't go fishing this morning. Too windy. So I went out to the garage with a fresh can of GoJo type hand cleaner and used it to clean the grime off that old Johnson 8HP motor. Then followed up with Windex. Worked great! :thumb: And I went to HD and picked up some items to add a drain...

    Some good stuff happening

Awww... ain't it romantic? My wife likes it a lot. Says we should be out there in the morning watching the sun come up and sipping coffee. Deal! :thumb:

    Some good stuff happening

Brought more boxes of boat stuff into the garage. Found a couple things that I've been "missing" for awhile now. Last night I bought another extension cord and a couple more multi-outlet cords so that we can plug in more conveniently. We can reach power from anywhere in the garage now...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Question - how thick a piece of aluminum sheet can I safely bend 90 degrees? I'll just clamp it in my workmate and bend it over. The piece would be a couple inches wide. I'll rivet it to the gunwale and screw it down to the deck. I want to attach it to the gunwale and deck so that I can...

    Some good stuff happening

My post-op waiting period is up and I'm able to lift heavy objects and work and whatnot again. Went out this morning and brought in a whole bunch more boxes out of the shed and into the garage. Emptied the boxes onto appropriate shelves and will fine tune the organization as I go along...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Done with the jack! :) Went out there this morning, backed the truck up to the trailer and hooked up. Raised the jack, loosened the bolts and gently scooted the jack forward 3.5 inches with my BFH and tightened it back down. Easy peasy. Now have 3 inches of clearance. No worries about...

    Some good stuff happening

Guys, it's been a year and 2 days since I started this project. Time flies, eh? :joyous: Today I received a spring return for my walk through door. A minor thing but it's nice that I'm getting down to the small stuff now. And I've done more boat work in the last 2 days than I have for a...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

After working on the winch I moved on to the old rod holders that I wanted to remove. They were just in the way and didn't help functionality much at all. So they're outta here! (I do have nicer replacements stored in the old shed in a box somewhere.)

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

So I'm almost done with the winch situation. Got the right tools, bolted the winch into place and wound tight. Quickly. No problemo. After bolting the winch in place upside down (right side up?) I had plenty of room to spare. But later I realized that my knuckles will...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Thanks for the help guys! I'm finally starting to "get a handle" on things! Bwaa haaa haa! I moved the offset up two holes and slid the upright post forward about an inch. That gave me about 1.5" clearance. Plenty! Yeah, I figured that out. After pulling all the winch strap off...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

This afternoon I also managed to get some new rod holders installed in the gunwales. There were several large holes on the starboard side that were ugly and I used the largest one as a place to put a holder. The new plastic rod holders The big hole that was drilled larger to make room for...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Okay guys, here are some pix that I already had of the winch and upright. I can get more in the daylight tomorrow if needed.

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Woof woof! I'm back on the job. :D Need some suggestions on how to extend the standoff on my trailer. It's too short and when the boat is pulled up to the rubber stop, the winch handle sometimes hits the boat hull unless I'm super careful. Hard on the knuckles too. :mmph: I could...

    Some good stuff happening

Worked a couple hours in the garage today. Well, the boy worked and I supervised and did small stuff while seated. Per doctors orders don't ya know! :tongue-new: Got all but the 3 heaviest boxes out of the old shed. Those will have to wait till I'm able to move them myself. They're too...

    Some good stuff happening

Well, I went out to the garage this morning and started to organize tools with the boys help. Started with the little black Homak box. Ran out of drawers very quickly. You know how it is... I wanted to have separate drawers for left-handed metric screwdrivers and whatnot. ;) Reached a point...
