1970 River Queen Houseboat new owner here!

That's practically nothing. I'm at around 10ppt and see *far* less salt water effects than the ocean.

It isn't, unless you're bringing it in from outside (rain, wet people, etc)

    Exhaust Elbow Fit Problem

I ran into this problem as well. Scoured the web and found people that only used those 3 holes without issue, so I did the same. No leaks after 1.5 years...

    Exhaust Elbow Fit Problem

Is the issue that only 3 of the bolts will mate with the housing, or does it not fit at all?

    Old ford 302 no spark

Please answer each of my questions specifically...Your descriptions haven't been clear, and still aren't to me. There is a fat orange wire and fat yellow wire on the solenoid. That far left terminal on the solenoid (when looking at your pic) is not a ground stud. I'm not sure what pic #1 is of...

    Old ford 302 no spark

Well, now I'm thoroughly confused. Your first pic of an orange wire with black wires--that's the starter or something else? 1. Orange wire on your solenoid. Where does it go? And is that the only orange wire? 1a. There's a red wire on that terminal. Where does it go? Is it the only red wire in...

    Old ford 302 no spark

Then it's wired wrong. That orange wire should go to the battery positive. The small red wire should be on the battery side of the solenoid (I edited my above post which said starter side) and powers your ignition. Where does your battery positive wire go? There shouldn't be a ground wire on the...

    Old ford 302 no spark

I think you mean left to right ... What ground cable? Shouldn't be one off the solenoid. And can't tell from the pics but there should only be one red wire, on the battery side of the solenoid. And what are those black wires on the starter?

Left to right isn't much help. Need to know which wire goes to which terminal

What is this in my drive oil reservoir

Probably not into the drive unless you had a bad input shaft seal, but definitely into the bellows. You need to pull the drive ASAP and check out the u-joints, gimble bearing, etc

    Old ford 302 no spark

Did you take note of @kenny nunez post? It looks like you got a non-grounded solenoid. Guessing it isn't wired correctly, as it won't work right if you wired it according to the diagram. How do you have it wired?

Not starting, but it supplies the voltage to the coil when key on/running

You'll have to be a bit more specific, but the wire from the choke to the coil should be a resistor wire that will get hot. You'll get less than 12v to the coil exterior when cranking. Looks like a tan wire from the solenoid supplies the full 12v only when cranking. The wiring looks a bit...

You're missing that an electric motor is inherently more efficient than an ICE. also transmission is electricity is easier than using more fossil fuels to transport gas

    Electric Boats

There are definitely downsides to all energy producing technologies. The ultimate solution, which of course most of the "free marketeers" (who for some reason seem to be the ones against renewable energy) balk at, is to pass the embedded costs along to the energy producers. If coal-burners were...
