    Sewing Machines

Just remember, the industrial machines do not have the motor inside them. The motors are typically separate and located below the sewing table. Most older machines for sale at reasonable prices are going to have a clutch motor, so you may be buying a servo motor to replace it. If you want...

1999 mercruiser 7.4 exhaust tube source?

The Mercruiser Y-pipe fits about a 3-3/4" 'flexible' exhaust tube. Not sure about the Corsa pipe though . . . The regular couplers that join the down elbows to the Y-pipe are just plain rubber. Make sure there is the correct part in place. Overlap to the rigid pipes should be about 1-3/4".

    Maine HIN on Registration

Worst case is that if you have all of the proper paperwork but the numbers don't match and the registration folks won't issue a title/registration, you could have the boat inspected and issue a state HIN. Therefore you will now have paperwork that matches.

Flotation . . . 2lb density is quite common for flotation. 4lb density is used for more 'structural' applications, like foaming in fuel tanks. The foam that you should be considered is a '2-part' urethane foam 9closed cell) and is (should be) USCG approved. When you mix the 2 parts of the...

    Maine HIN on Registration

CNO is the old Glastron-Carlson MIC prefix, I beleive, After 1988, the MIC prefix went to GLA. The boat was made July 5, 1986 (ie, G586) '04303' is the sequentially assigned portion of the HIN. I have no idea what the '00000011638BT' if front of the last 6 digits of the HIN is or has to do...

    Sewing Machines

Others may be along with some advice. Here is my advice . . . Interior work as in boat upholstery? . . . . Look for a machine that has "Walking Foot" and "Compound Feed" (aka needle feed). Not all industrial machines will have these features, so be careful in searching for a machine. I got...

    Bravo 3 stock in gear

"Stuck" . . . Not sure if this was the problem to begin with or if you tried this, but . . . Normally, when you remove the Bravo outdrive the shift linkage gets pulled out from the drive to a point where the linkage can 'release' the cable. It also needs to be this way in order to get the...

    Sealing wood for motor mounts.

If I were me, I'd resin the individual pieces, and even go so far as to put a layer of fiberglass in between as well. Lots of folks just glass the outside, but if you are a real stickler, isolating individual pieces within a wood structure helps restrict water penetration, should that occur.

Bravo 3 with open exhaust bellow, running with drive up?

Bravo outdrives don't mind all that much about low speed (idle) running in a semi-tilted position. Keep in mind that at low speed the exhaust tube is underwater. In my experience of running tubes instead of bellows for the past 8 years, I don't really notice much, if any, difference.

    Trailer weight distribution question

I think the main question of this thread was about the ability to increase tongue weight by making a change in the axle position, since the boat position did not have much, if any, room for adjustment. The OP subsequently indicated that there was 108 lbs of tongue weight without the boat and...

Riser Extension Blocks - Full Closed Cooling ???

Update . . . I finally pulled the riser/elbows on the starboard engine to finish the exhaust connections. All set . . . (y) Note to self: Always assemble the exhaust system from the Y-pipe upward

    Trailer weight distribution question

My rough calculations are that the CG of the boat is about 5" BEHIND the center point of the 2 axles. The axles would have to move back about 24" to get you near 10% tongue weight. Something isn't right. Is the boat abnormally stern heavy?

8hp Johnson water out of exhaust

What @racerone said. Exhaust blockage. My guess is that there is some sort of blockage in/around the powerhead that begins to fill up with water. Shortly after starting the engine water reaches the area of the lower exhaust port, causing the engine to faulter. It might even be pulling a bit...

    Which prop/ is this ok?

The larger prop (14" dia) will want to move about 4% more water than the 13.75" prop., which will require about 10% more horsepower. I would expect the top RPM to drop a bit, maybe 150-200 RPM. You will have to decide if that is OK, based on where your current top RPM is vs. what the engine is...

    Engine Replacement/Upgrade

Yes, people do those sorts of things . . . You would probably need a complete 'bobtail' engine, as there would not be much, if anything that you could use from the 4.3 engine. Check out engine replacements on 'Doug Russell' and 'Michigan Motorz' websites.
