    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

Also, I just came across a piece of information about the Mercury OB option . . . It looks like with electric steering and DTS, then JPO can be added on a re-power and the 'personality profile' can be created for an individual boat. This appears to be a recent change, but certainly a welcome...

    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

Oh, I think I know what you are asking . . . I used the higher weight of the OB's under consideration and also the thrust of a 350 HP OB, whereas I plan on going with 300's. In terms of strength calculations, I have been using 25,000 psi tensile strength for the fiberglass. Each of the 3...

I'm not sure what you mean exactly, but the answer is yes

Yes, apparently I do good quality work and don't charge enough, so they keep coming back. :ROFLMAO:

    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

Back on Topic . . . Using the Optimus BOM app and getting typical retail pricing on the components, here are the rough costs of various Tech configurations . . . Optimus 360 + SeaStation (Anchor & Auto-pilot) + Electric Steering $27,250 Optimus 360 + Electric Steering $22,600 Optimus 360 +...

    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

When I do the Optimus 360 configuration using their website tool (optimusbom.com) I get some notices when configuring for Mercury engines. Apparently, the Optimus does not work with the latest DTS controls, so I'd have to buy a legacy control. Then there are some Mercury parts to get to...

    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

Probably going to come down to a combination of cost and convenience. All things being equal, I'd go with Mercury. But, I doubt things will be equal . . . :ROFLMAO: Also, I have a couple of upholstery jobs to 'squeeze' into my schedule. Customers from the past few years, coming to me with...

Sometimes it is harder than others. 😆 Tech discussions are always a challenge. I’ll be back in business at the end of the week.

    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

Holiday Update . . . I hope everyone is having an enjoyable Holiday season. We hosted Christmas and the kids/grandkids have been staying with us for the week. Fiberglassing has been on hold while the family is here to avoid the possibility of fumes in the house. Meanwhile . . . 1) I have...

My safety tip of the day is...

I've only see wave action on the Great Lakes once. I happened to be traveling on business near Lake Michigan on a windy day and was amazed to see the heights of the waves (guesstimate 12-15 feet). I've often wondered if it is something about those bodies of water that is conducive to large waves?

1998 Sea Ray 250 Sundancer... rain intrusion driving me nuts

Not sue how you have your boat covered . . . but possibilities range from cockpit drains, to windshield seals, and even water coming through the seats. Could also be the engine bay vents. Just about every boat I've owned got/gets some rain water in the bilge. IIRC, the Sundancers have...

    2025 NFL/CFB News and Nonsense

Found this . . . "The NFL is actively exploring AI to assist officiating, primarily using technologies like Sony's Hawk-Eye for precise ball tracking (line-to-gain, out-of-bounds) and data analysis for consistency, with Commissioner Goodell emphasizing AI's role in supporting human judgment...

    2025 NFL/CFB News and Nonsense

I can see re-play video used more in officiating the penalties. Perhaps from an oversight perspective. I would imagine there are considerations on-going in professional sports . . . maybe using AI to identify or refute penalty calls.

    2025 NFL/CFB News and Nonsense

I know that Refs sometimes miss things, but this was pretty blatant. (beer cans flying at the TV screen in disgust). Those 'Baltimore' refs are a tough bunch . . . The Patriots did good to brush it off and go onto win the game, which I think will be looked at as a pivotal win as a...

@Boaterdan278michigan . . . any updates on this? I know things get tougher to move forward during the winter and the holidays. Just wondering if you made the offer and had the survey ?

    Pigskin Pick’em

I had low expectations for my team (NE Pats 🏈 ) on SNF last night, but they surprised me with their '60 minutes' mindset. Kind of makes up for the 30 minutes they played last week. :D

Engine Stringer Spacing (width) Specifications ???

Yes, 22.5" is the number . . . I was just hoping to send the person a Mercury published drawing that confirms what I am telling him. But . . I measured the spacing on my engines and he will do likewise. Maybe, just maybe, this person will buy the engines . . .
