    Duration is all about how much Lead is in the battery. Maximum cranking amps is all about plate surface area. Never changes.

    No battery lasts long if you have to crank the main motor 20 times to get the engine to just idle. But I am saving so much more money cranking soo much.

    Bingo on that huge plug & socket. My problem on a 2002 Mercruiser. Pins get tired and get smaller I D on the pin. Or spread apart on the sockets.

    How do we know the size of his motor ? Does it always start hot or cold in 1 second ? How long do you have to crank ? Hot or cold ? Then we can pick a battery

    You need a dealer with a mechanic to help you. That is the same parts list I saw and used. Maybe a DIY person took yours apart and forgot something. Or added a extra part. Call my local Evinrude / Johnson place. Ask for Butch. will be on off season days / hours. 1-315-686-5622
