Never had issues with my ARE.
I put on my dodge in 06, traveled the southeast for 10 plus years never got broken into. Brother still has that truck and never broken into. Almost 20 yea4s.
A few years back they would not warranty behind a 454 in my friends boat. 26 ft nearby Sundancer. He did it anyway and never had problems but then again not a speed boat.
I'd have a tough time selling that idea to the boss. I've had this boat for what three or four years now and not had one. Might be able to talk her into a combo birthday/fathers day tho.....
I saved my old garmin (about 12 years old) from my last boat. The transducer was shot in the head by a submerged 2x8. I only saved the unit, no power and transducer. Found a transducer on ebay no prob but no power so looks like I'm in for a new one.

Got the foam in the side peices repair from where I cut them instead of drilling out rivets.
update. Needed more rivets, more 4200 and some plumbing parts but i'm still just one of those hairs under, with the agreed upon tools and spare / future use motor not applying.
Pulled back Saturday so day on the couch but got some good work done yesterday before the heat. Everything set up to get the helm back in tomorrow when one of our stray 'kids' will come help. A few more rivets to do on the third panel then some more piddling until tomorrow.
