    if you troll big lakes a nice humming 6hp is great and generates less fumes from a back wind & noise. Set it straight with the friction bolt and steer with the big guy :-)

    if engine runs well & oil consumption is normal top side the you are probably just looking at carbon juices. check GC for leak but it looks like carbon. deposits engine runs ok yet... possibly when stored. an injector is slowy leaking fuel under remaining fuel pressure down into...

    it was a good learning. I do not recall having so much finger trouble on other small mercs. Garage is filling... 3.9, 4.0 on the boat, got what looks like a sailboat 4.0 and now this 7.5 which size permitting.... may replace my faithfull 4hp kicker

    yep I got the fat shaft sized impeller fits perfect. Freezing water ? ... that is for duck hunters... .I do not do duck anymore :-) those impellers are tiny to say the least !
