    agree yet if the brass plate threads are not lined up you can't screw down the 4 bolts .

    are we tallking brass swivel ring under the mag plate screw holes not lining up...?? simple... take a sishkabob stick and push it down in a bolt hole till you feel the brass ring is lined up at least with 1 hole and the stick goes all the way down there. The 3 other bolts holes may not...

    Has stated carbs usually just clog up and simply need a good cleaning and OEM gaskets (some china stuff melts !!) Old cork floats lasted and still last after 50 years . Your "older" current floats won't soak up and may be even better quality than new ones. I would leave them in...

    try this.......... 2 screws to remove if it leaks it neads a reseal.... add GC oil from the bottom up.... replace with new nylon washers when done. you tubes can help you on the reseal ....some just replace GC oil mid season if not a basket case...

    I am not aware of any like the Johnson red book but they are close cousins anyway...cowl or color changes mostly functionnalities are pretty much the same.. part#s may differ being build in US and Canada FR on AOMCI would know :) or Racerone here. parts listings are available...
