    check resistance on the lower plug boot to engine frame ground while wiggling twisting the plug wire and turning the mag plate with the throttle resistance should be steady 4-8 kohms if properly connected the the coil HV pin.

    anything is possible and can result from blown SC drivers due to battery sparks , over voltage etc... since your buzzer is driven by the SC monitor and all tan triggering signals listed are disconnected your SC is likely defective. the buzzer is either ground driven or battery...

    ohms from boot plug to engine frame must read 4-8 kohms approx. points must be clean clean clean !! plug wires sometimes go open in the bend under the mag plate ...they may test ok but the rotation of the mag plate can suddendly open the plug wire

    buzzer is no different from a light bulb.. it needs energy B+ one side and a grd to buzz so check the wiring either it gets constant B+ when it should not or a wire is grounded. ... being an accessory I suspect one side is positive with key ON and the other side is soldid...

    If I recall there is a side detent spring inside the GC that should hold the shift rod at it's assigned position !! the GC may have been openned and incorrectly reassembled in the past no big deal just a pain to open fix & reseal. since you do not know if the GC leaks and takes...

    the 6r71 has a a small link down the exhaust housing ... by loosing the GC it will drop an inch or so then you can fit the 2 rods together Use a drive socket to loosen the lower bolt... motors had side cover plates. in any event check the link clip Drop down the GC 1...

    Brown pudding may be due to old and sometimes wrong grear oil .. you could try a qwick refill and run the engine a while and recheck the oil. if you see no signs of coffee cream color you may be ok . you can alsways dump the oil again and refill. openning up these gear cases...
