    I am not a 4 stroke guy ,so I would think your motors service manual should have some kind of info on it. seems like I read about them overheating and possibly hurting the ECU if stuck and the ECU keeps trying to adjust it. But I am sure the ECU uses info from other sensors to know it wants...

    your Yamaha service manual should have a procedure to check calibration on your motor. If it has run well in the past, then I would check to make sure the linkage to the throttle to carbs has not come loose. it should go full open if the linkage comes loose
