    you need to be more especific ... power at the starter means you have a dead starter if it does not spin. proper grounding is essential not just 12v battery . check all connections for bad crimps, oxydation , bad connector plugs etc.... if the 12v at the starter is truly a good 12v...

    energy to push a boat and owner against water by turning a prop requires a lot more energy than barrel cruising . Energy comes from fuel combustion and anything depriving the process will...stall the engine. clean the carb !

    these low compression engines are basically fisherman's friend good for trolling, getting back to camp & facilitates casting for the guy at the back :-) I would not venture to change their vocation... btw good for floatplanes with restricted cargo space

    What brand of 2 stroke oil do you use for your Johnson Evinrude 2 stroke

    early ETECS like my 75hp has a oil line to mix in with the fuel to protect the HS fuel pump and injectors. They remove the feature around 2007 or 2008 so some folks now add a bit of oil in the tank ...to bad BRP took out the feature.

    no need to spray fuel in the carb it won't help because it does not circulate fuel via the small passages inside the carb. all that does is feed gas to the inlet reeds and crankcase. if it bogs down at high throttle the HS circuit in the carb is not delivering the amount of fuel the...

    tons of multi wire plugs on Amazon... since you are keeping the main connector for the high current stuff the rest can be reconnected and depending on the actual amount of wires to re joined you can even use a typical trailler male-female connector set just find the appropriate...

    Coil check

    I belieive those square coils are a couple hundred ohms HV and a few LV side .... check utubes or experts will chime in . i guess points are no longer the issue :-)

    great find.. thanks for feedback... yes carbs need a clean up sometimes but let it run a while sometimes things clear up after passing fresh fuel in the carb. ..try some engine cleaner products like EV engine cleaner and see if things improve ... if not do the carb simple old style...

    a few ohms ...3.5 ..ohms I presume seems a bit high but indicates continuity is ok is the coil causing issues ?? points and condensers are usually more suspects with the readings you have btw indicate coil type engine model year etc...

    see chart... charge your battery...... if more than 5years old and lacked TLC... buy a new dedicated boat STARTER Battery .

    STEP #1 make certain the battery is fully charged and all connections are made shinny for max . amperage transfer to the starter
