    missing oil pressure pulse on a ETEC is a code 38 fault may be due to air bubbles in a fuel line... see if you can purge the oil lines if anything like a ETEC ON etec the issue eventually had to be fix with a new oil pump and more...tolerant software to missing pressure pulse intervals

    did you do a blow test on the carb when finished cleaning it ? no air should flow in when held upside down how is the tip on the ls needle ? float not upside down ?

    btw remove the lower bolt below the ls needle ... you should see light peering into it ... the HS jet is at the rear if need be pusha 2-4 pound monofilament to clear any crud ... reflush and air spray

    There is only one good way to change coils and reconnect new ones properly to the plug wires . you must remove the mag plate. while out change the 7mm wires to new stranded solid wires. take a picture of the plate underside for referrence fish in new wires up top and screw the coils...

    try to measure resistance from plug boots to engine body ... should see 4-8 KOhms solid did you take time to install new stranded solid wire (no carbon resistive stuff !!!) did you test the new coils for continuity on both primary to primary ) (0-1ohm) and primary to HV pin out (4-8Kohms)...

    have you tried insulating the PP from the engine itself to keep heat away. a few fiber washers to create a space between parts may allow enough heat "prevention" ( I do not know if it can be done or work mind you it all depends if the heat is internal or external to the PP

    unless you can confirm the age of the impeller you may as well tend to it just in case it could be 10 + years old :-(

    could have been temporary blockage sucked on the water inlet. how long ago was the impeller serviced ?
