    btw is the gc getting water ?? if not no need to mess with the GC do pressure test. if it holds pressure and vacum it is ok . just do the impeller carefull with the brittle carbon seal on top of the drive shaft . the book CHEAP OUTBOARDS is a good one and covers the 5.5hp...

    great news. thanks for feedback. relay contacs do oxidize and stick ON keep an eye on everything in case excessive current was carried on the T&T motor and damaged the relay contact surfaces. Everything will probably be fine with new relays

    step 1 did u check the fuse ..possibly blown by now ... most have one feeding the T&T circuit. could have been a stuck switch or stuck relay . fuse is generally on a red wire off the selenoid B+ side from the battery cable if you have a fat connector on the harness open it and...

    lots to check...but I am no ficht expert !! others will chime in VST small conical filter on the injector return fuel line to the VST . You VST may have one even if not shown on the diagrams seepic see description for a modern.. ETEC lift pump faulty... CHANGE...

    Personnaly I would run it and see what happens .extra oiling or good decarb product won't hurt my stuck hard 9.5hp took a week to loosen up... it has been running a few years now with no issues.

    turning the drive shaft manually will tell you if you are frw or reverse as you pull or push the shift rod the prop rotation will change in neutral no rotation ! . pull it up has instructed and slide the end knob into the shift linkage bolt it up and retest from the top shifter...

    Real happy you found it thanks for your feedback :) btw NO wing nuts on the battery !!! wing nuts are EMM killers fyi you also have the ETEC owners site whereyou can do searches and ask questions. lots of ETEC experts and the owner support that site...
