    Yes there is a check valve on the bell housing and the drive. When separated they should seal each side off

    The 6 cyl verado uses 25W40, the 8 cyl uses 10W30 This is the reason I have 6 gal of 25W40 and 6 gal of 10W30, bought the wrong stuff at first.

    The MEFI can be scanned for codes using a paper clip and 12V resistor LED. In place of the LED can also use a digital multimeter with tone option. Connect paper clip and led then turn key ON and count flashes

    Your serial number shows it's a MEFI-1 TBI motor. Timing should be 8* BTDC set in base timing mode Plugs MR43LTS Gap 0.045

    Had the boat a month and took it for a ride today. Love the handling and power, not so much the docking, amount of helm turns and touchy digital throttle controls. I'll get use to the a steering and throttle control, will take longer for docking. Docking - use to single B3 and the B3 bites...

    Been thinking about this and zero lash would not be the way to go "IF" your not using lock nuts. What about finding out the push rod length of the original and a vortec? Might be worth the change to go with rods and rockers and not worry about it. Keep same lifters

    The limit switch probably needs replaced or just bypass it. If it's bypassed then the trim button will bring it full up same as trailer button. Not at my computer or I would post a wiring Pic.
