Ilmor/Yanmar Drive Trim Pump Relay issue

OK, but something is missing Compare visually the old and new relays to make certain pin 30 and 87A is in same locations referencing the other pins. If that checks, use a ohm meter and check continuity between those 2 pins. Then check between 30 and 87 which should be open

Ilmor/Yanmar Drive Trim Pump Relay issue

Being the az980 says its a 4 pin relay does not have a normally open (NO) contact. The az980-1 is a 5 pin with a NO contact

Ilmor/Yanmar Drive Trim Pump Relay issue

Just thought more about what you said. First drive would go up but not down. Swapped relays and it goes down but not up Then bought 10 relays and it only works with the one original relay.... Meaning, the new relays you bought are not the same as the one that still work, In the pic above...

Ilmor/Yanmar Drive Trim Pump Relay issue

Welcome to iboats I looked up the relay for the one drive and found it to be same as Merc/VP uses which is 5 pin cube type. Trying to find a wiring diagram but have not yet found one. If its like Merc/VP then moving the relay should effect which way unless there is a far outside chance the...

Engine alignment ,just got the tool. Pics posted

The only part of the bar that needs grease on it is the end, the last 2 inches. The end of the tool is not showing any marks from going in and other of the coupler. If its not going into the coupler then its not going to help, it has to be straight First and second pic shows the bar angled...

    1975 35 Double Alternator

The old Prestolite Alt used a external Regulator if OMC. Later used internal Reg Prestolite/Motorola type. Could chose another using the link chart and just rewire accordingly. Easiest way would be change to a "one wire" Alt (Delco self excite)...

Volvo oil pressure reads 80 psi all times

Just thought of something from my previous post. This being a cluster gauge and all gauges using 240/33 ohm senders, swap the fuel gauge with the Temp sender and see if it moves the same amount

Volvo oil pressure reads 80 psi all times

There is a very easy (kind of sort or maybe) way of figuring this out. Get a hold of any electrical stand alone Temp gauge ( probably could use other gauges but lets not get into that right now o_O ) and connect the Temp sender to it with power and ground. If it reads correctly then its the...

Volvo oil pressure reads 80 psi all times

The sender wire might be chuffed. If it does the same with sender wire disconnected at the Gauge then I'm back to voltage reading

Volvo oil pressure reads 80 psi all times

The gauge should go to zero unless the gauge is designed not to go to zero, gauge is bad (2nd one was used and not new), or voltage is being applied when off. The resistance (ohms) reduces the amount of current that goes thru the gauge. The more resistance the less current, You've already...

Volvo oil pressure reads 80 psi all times

Main concern is the non-zero when things are off. Check V while running and off at gauge

Volvo oil pressure reads 80 psi all times

With gauge reading 30-40 when off my first suspect is the gauge. Did the gauge really get changed or it was just said it was replaced. My guess is gauge was not replaced. If it actually was, check the ground on the gauge. See if there is a difference between Bat Gnd to gauge ground by...
