    We don't know exactly what you have to work with. Early in the posting you mentioned a 1989 was original by installing a vortex block out of a truck. Issues are what are you gong to use from old motor? If using the original thermostat housing and exhaust then ok, but might be some issues...

    Your right my bad, and it can't be the housing, that is raw water only not on the HE side. If its not something like a plastic block drain fell out due to not being tightened enough or cracked, then just puts some water in the HE and see where it runs out

    Might be antisiphon valve partly clogged or a weak fuel pump. Make up a Tee fitting with fuel pressure gauge and place inline between pump and carb

    With it smoking the diode there is a short in the harness. Disconnect the Battery and plugs going to/from the components. So you can use a ohm meter to check for shorts to ground

    Unable to say for sure, but I wouldn't worry about it so long as you probed the fitting with a wire up inside to make sure it wasn't clogged

    Being injected there should be a shrader valve on the rail to test. Will need a high pressure gauge that goes to at least 100 psi

    Thanks, then you need to reduce pitch. With compression gauge being accurate, there is some kind of liquid in the cylinders (gas, oil, water or carbon build up)
