    hot water tank smell/replacement

The rotten egg smell is from old water not being flushed out. Take a mix of bleach and water and fill it up. Cap the lines off so it doesn't get into the rest of the system. Bleach can be hard on pump vanes and seals. Run the boat around getting into some bouncing. Drain, flush with fresh...

1987 Mercury 2 Stroke Steady Beep

It will have wires coming out somewhere, most likely on the bottom. The wires go to a float switch inside the tank. One of the wires should connect to the Tan/Blue and the other goes to ground. Unplug or disconnect either will stop the beep "IF" this is what's causing it to sound

1987 Mercury 2 Stroke Steady Beep

The Tan/Blue goes to your sensor switches. If anyone of them close this turns the beeper on. I see what looks like a oil tank (oil injection) and it would also go to it. If oil switch thinks the tank is low it will close. Unplug it

    Mercruiser Alternator Issues and Wiring

The Black is a ground, and I would install it under one of the nuts holding the slave relay in place. It may have been removed before and not reinstalled. Could have also been at another location, but it needs to be grounded to the block. With a bad ground it can cause the ALT to over charge...

Volvo-Penta 3.0 - water in oil and other issues.

    2004 Mercruiser 5.0 MPI Starting/Stalling Issues

The 800 to 1200 would have me looking at the IAC and TPS. Noted you just replaced IAC and did you clean or replace the IAC muffler (foam rubber piece in TB)? At idle the TPS voltage should read about 0.5V Most likely your going to need to get some readings to determine what's going on...

will not engage forward with engine running on baffles

Don't see the need to drop the lower again. Appears the shift foot is in place. Can look at it and see if its in place. With it clicking means it almost is engaging. Try readjusting cable and if that doesn't fix then it needs the lower cable. Most likely would be best to replace anyway

    Mercury 3.0 EST no spark

MM is a good company but Sierra is hit and miss IMO. That said if you get a bad one others have said they will replace I would look at the local GM dealer

will not engage forward with engine running on baffles

Unable to say without actually touching but most likely it needs adjusting. If cable is old it may need replaced. Does it go into reverse running?

will not engage forward with engine running on baffles

Ok then it didn't matter if you were in forward or not. When reinstalling the shift foot needed to be in same position as when removed. If it was in forward then foot needed to be turned ccw to lock position when reinstall
