Need the manual, and if yours pre 2000 need manual 11 and 2000 on manual 28 Use seals for 2000 on because they work better and do fit. 1 each Small inner seal 26-8M0033407 (replaces 2 each lip seals) 1 each Large outer seal 26-861694 (replaces 2 each lip seals) Dimensions 3 - 3/8 OD, 2 - 1/2...

2002 Mercruiser 5 liter MPI Distributor Timing

Thanks, issue with that is if the damper notch can be a few degrees off. To make sure its a true TDC would need a stop bolt or a micrometer probing the top of the piston. Your motor is running and with that as @Fun Times mentioned in the other thread, loosen the Dizzy and ever so slightly...

2002 Mercruiser 5 liter MPI Distributor Timing

Maybe, first tell me how you determined the motor is at TDC?

2002 Mercruiser 5 liter MPI Distributor Timing

No that's not close enough IF it was at TDC. If you are at TDC then lift the Dizzy out enough to disengage gear and rotate Should have also also posted this one to your previous thread https://forums.iboats.com/threads/02-mercruiser-5-liter-mpi-rough-running.756751/#post-5769891

Shift cutout switch not working even after replacement

You said old 3.0 which could mean may things. Could be points Dizzy or TB Dizzy. Points uses a ground to make the motor stumble and TB uses 12V. Do you know if the other end of the shift interruptor actually connects to a ground or 12V?

    Bravo 3 Prop Help

If it was running good before the change in elevation, then not so much. That said its a new to you boat so checking pressure is a good thing. If your motor has the flat dizzy cap, then changing or having a spare on the boat is a good thing. Those caps have been know to cause problems and...

    Mixing Lights and Grounding questions

I would run a ground to trailer just because it won't hurt anything and may help Yes, this is no issue. Just note the LED's do have a + and - side

    Prop Pitch

If you "were" reaching max WOT RPM with 17 pitch then yes, you will be slower coming out of the hole, and may start lugging the motor. If you were over reving then should be fine
  11. alldodge

    Bravo 3 Prop Help

Yes you need to drop pitch. A motor looses HP at higher elevations. Might work with 24s but most likely 22s, but I just guessing based on 200 rpm per inch of pitch

Wonder if I should go IO again or go OB?

Thanks Muc, as before your the go to guy. Never saw those kind of cost Was thinking about OB myself because I'm getting really tired of hanging upside down to change a bravo raw water pump impeller. Then just paying more then $1000 for a outdrive jack because I'm getting to old to man handel it...

7.4mpi just started running rough and with gas coming out exhaust

All evens should not be tied together, only way this can happen is if someone moved the connectors. The below pic is from a 555 ECM but does illustrate batch firing better due to the colors. Injectors are seated with rubber type seals which keep it from grounding out against the intake...

    Happiest Day of Ownership !!!

Might change the rear bunks from 2x6 to 6x6 and cut it to the same angle as the hull and low as possible. Move them in slightly inward so it will self center. My trailer came with outer 2x4 (flat side on the 4) bunks and it was so close to the strake that some times it would cause it to...
