Waste Tank Level Indicator - Options?

The one in your link was similar to the one which came with my cruiser. Used 3 floats and once the top one tunes ON, it shuts the system down and not able to use until pumped out

    2001 Mercruiser 5.7 TBI Won't Keep Running

If your fuel line connects at posted item 3, then look on the other side (item 1) and see if that is the plug To ring out or ohm out is to set the digital meter on ohm scale. Disconnect the connectors from sensor and ECM. Then connect the meter probe to each end of the contacts and see if you...

    2001 Mercruiser 5.7 TBI Won't Keep Running

Do the wires ring/ohm out? If you have a plug (item 3) it can be removed and pressure gauge attached https://www.mercruiserparts.com/bam/subassembly/31844/2704/110 Otherwise you would need something like the Merc fitting to put inline where the fuel line attaches to TB

    Mercruiser 3.0 No Spark issues

Should be a non-issue. The tube is just an extension of the fuel line. Being loose around the outside is no issue so long as the tube is not leaking on the inside. If it was leaking then it would run out of gas

upgrading the ignition in my 4.3 Mercruiser

You have a TBV ignition module, it's just the older style which uses a different connector. Its no longer made and if it needs to be replaced then there is a kit to change over to new design. The pic below is showing the newer design but where the wires go is the same except the Tan/Blue is...

    Mercruiser 3.0 replaced fuel pump

Using a portable tank is a good idea To verify its not the pump, remove it from the block and reconnect lines. Now pump the pump by hand to see if fuel pumps thru the lines Being a new pump, my guess is there is an issue with the rod to pump movement

    Mercruiser 3.0 No Spark issues

Not a carb expert but what I would do is find out what jets are in it now. Then can compare with what should be there, and then can decide what to change

    Mercruiser 3.0 No Spark issues

I would suggest making the carb run richer. Increase jet size or get a larger carb. A motor won't be destroyed if it runs rich and can be leaned out later A take off bog can be lack of fuel Don't run it hard, maybe keep it just enough to cruse and give it time and recheck plugs

    Mercruiser 3.0 No Spark issues

Don't see a 1 BTDC mark but would agree your about 23 degrees advance Need more time on the plugs to determine if its actually lean. Correct if I'm wrong but the plugs have very few hours on them

    2001 Mercruiser 5.7 TBI Won't Keep Running

First and foremost we are learning nothing by unplugging a sensor. All that is doing is causing the ECM to get mixed info, so anything that happens afterwards means nothing As FunTimes said previous, is there a data cable between the two motors? Do the motors have a MEFI 1 or 3? Have a motor...

    2001 Mercruiser 5.7 TBI Won't Keep Running

Apologizes I'm seeing MAP voltage and thinking its 5V Ref. One motor idles close 2 600 and dies, and the other idles around 1200 and doesn't die. The posting of troubleshooting tips above list bad connection and to check CKT 416 and 432 which is the 5V Ref

    2001 Mercruiser 5.7 TBI Won't Keep Running

Yes, But Think of it like this. The ECM makes the 5V reference (Ref) voltage to supply the exact number as a Ref. The sensors have 3 wires, Ref, sense and Ref/Gnd. Take the TPS and the voltage going back to the ECM at idle should be lets say 0.6V. With the Ref at 2.55V the ECM may see 0.4V...

    2001 Mercruiser 5.7 TBI Won't Keep Running

The 5V should be exactly 5V running or not running. The motor will not run with the 5V below spec and it will cause other unknown things to show up as a problem when there isn't one at the location. In short, with bad 5V it can cause a MAP error when there is not one With it not coming up it...

    Hose rigging kit

The thing in the pic is a "fuel demand valve" and is used on newer motors and part of the EPA clean air. Keeps fuel from being squired out when a fuel line is removed by reducing the pressure. Attwood makes them https://www.mercruiserparts.com/8m0044687-valve-fule-5-in Use plastic wire loom...
