    Fogging oil won't kill engine

    If engine is in good shape , strong spark, good compression it won't stall with a bit of fogging oil introduced.

    A lot depends on the location.------In salt water areas they have all been scrapped.------In some locations you find an old time shop that will work on these motors.----Keeps folks going and no used ones to be had.

    What trouble shooting was done on this engine ?----Compression test would be easy before lifting it out.-------I took one out on my own boat.-----Correct the 3 bolts / studs and nuts hold it in there.----The engine , adapter and muffler lift out as an assembly.

    There are 3 separate crankcases.-----If a piston is at the bottom of the stroke the intake ports and exhaust ports would be open.----And air would simply go out the exhaust at the prop

    Sorry----You are too far away.----Have a 91 model that was given to me.----Bad compression on one cylinder.----I have O/S piston and rings ( listed as NLA ) on hand.----Easy fix for me.

    I usually test stuff and rarely install parts by the guessing method.----When I see the score marks like in your video, the motor comes apart for inspection.-----No hesitation on that.-----I hope to pick up a 1994 long shaft model 8 HP for less than 1/2 of what you have invested.---Not run for...

    Nothing goes wrong with these carburetors that would warrant a complete replacement.----No demand therefor no one is going to set up to make these !!!
