    I doubt it will flex from just opening the throttle plate.----But you have you wonder why a mekanic resorted to that fix.

    Fancy carpet and upholstery hides a lot of things.------I would not venture out in a " GREW " without inspecting the floatation foam under the floor.---

    Use 50:1 in this motor.---Bearings need lots of OIL to set up the " hydrodynamic wedge "-----That is what keeps the metal bits from touching.------Examples of a hydrodynamic wedge are a boat up on plane.-----Boat is the " bearing " and water is the lubricant.------A water skier also needs that...

    Someone made a rod from a piece of 1/4" threaded rod.----Clearly visible in first picture.----I am not sure why it is bent at the carburetor end.

    Is this a 2 stroke or 4 stroke motor.----Need model # or picture.----There is a fuse on a 2 stroke.----That fuse if blown won't stop a running motor.

    Turn flywheel over and look for 2 notches on bottom edge.----They will be 180 degrees apart.----I have never seen one of these flywheels that did not have the 2 marks !!

    1982 Johnson 50Hp won’t start

    The stator has one charge coil.----Used to fire top and bottom cylinder.-----Stator has one sensor coil.----Used to fire the top and bottom cylinder.----More trouble shooting is required.----Look for a broken wire / bad plug in somewhere.

    Most outboards drain all water out sitting on the trailer like that.-----Make sure no water is in the gear oil.
