    The 90 amp fuse is between the alternator and battery I would use 2 AWG Don't use CCA wire even in fresh water. Get some automotive battery cable wire at the least. Its not silver plated but seal the ends and they should last for some time before needing to be cleaned

    Being raw water cooled the motor should have 140* thermostat. The 160* can cause the salt to deposit inside the motor. Can also have Bravoits issue. Put a piece of clear hose at the thermostat housing hose which comes from the raw water pump, to check for air bubbles

    Glad your ok, you could have been hurt or worst. Take the surface area in square inches then multiply that by the pressure in the tank.

    Agree, looks like 5200 and if so, will need to chisel it off Mine had a problem, but cleaning it didn't fix the issue, had to replace

    Installed another, waited to calibrate until Bennett was on the phone. Did that and its working like all the others except the last one. Its not hanging but still trims to much. He is going to talk the the engineer again to see what they say Sure wish I never heard of autotrim

    TanFS I know itrs not the Merc carb its the 2GC and is just there to see how one carb uses the check ball. With yours when the pump is moves down the check ball is under a spring and that keeps the pump from sucking air. Note the slot in the pump cylinder. This is where the pump gets fuel

    The check ball is used in the accelerator pump circuit. It allows fuel to be sucked in, because without it the pump would be pushing fuel back n forth with no pressure. The gif below is for the 2GC and note how if works

    The fuel pressure might be to high. Anything above 6 psi can cause the issue. Being a 1989 you should have 2 gaskets and one plate between pump and block. The thick gasket and plate reduces the stroke, and thereby reducing the pressure the pump puts out...

    My opinion Sierra quality control is not the best. They build stuff in most cases like the OEM but not always exactly like the OEM. The stuff that won't meet OEM requirements are sold to aftermarket
