    The motor appears to be a 91 model.-----I would inspect this hull carefully.-------Could be in bad shape and waterlogged.

    As I have said before.----Time for orderly trouble shooting.----Not the same as lets try this part approach.

    Not sure if its carb issues or not.

    Start with a compression test.----- Post the numbers.----Or perhaps a float valve in one carburetor is leaking.----Remove cover in front of carburetors and squeeze manual fuel pump.----report what happens.

    OMC sterndrive not moving in gear.

    Stop, stop-----The 400 and 800 drives appear the same in pictures !!---The 800 is bigger.------Can you not see the different thread for the prop nut on these ??----The 400 uses a coarse thread and the 800 uses a fine thread.------The 800 has 15 tooth spline.----The 400 has 13 tooth spline.

    Lot of parts installed as per post #9.----Were these parts bad as per some recognized testing procedure?----Or just wild guessing ?----Are you now going to do more trouble shooting ?

    Trouble shooting starts with a compression test.----Post your numbers.-----If the motor sat for some time with fuel in the carburetors they might be gummed up / plugged.----Clean them.[------And you need to install a new water pump impeller too.----Or at least test the overheat horn.

    Not possible.-----How did it run for you last season ?------Sounds like the motor is mounted too high.-----Or water pump not working properly and hot exhaust is the issue.

    Choke flapper may be closed, but perhaps choke function is not " working" with throttle plate open.

    I never have trouble starting them.

    The owners manual should have starting instructions.-----Or your dealer will explain how to start a motor.

    2002 johnson 115 2 stroke starts then dies, heavy smoke.

    Sorry , I missed that location first time. --Drain carburetors as they may have too much oil in them.-----What oil are you using.----Is the vent clear on the oil tank.-----replace the cap on oil tank or leave it cracked open.

    Check neutral switch in control box.---Check ground wire on the solenoid.

    You are sure that motor is not mounted too high ?----Was water pump serviced recently ?------You are now running with temperature warning horn bypassed ?----Any other trouble shooting done.-----What fuel pump is on the motor now ?
