    You will have to install the driveshaft ( if it is good ) from your 1992 model.----Lot of work and pinion gear must be shimmed correctly !

    Lubrication on a 2 stroke is not well understood.----You mix oil with the gas.----Some of this oil and gas goes right through the motor and is wasted.-----Shows up in the exhaust housing and alarms a lot of people.

    Well 48 is a number to designate that part # is for a prop.----Just like 47 is for a water pump impeller.-----Then you have the part # ----Then A40 designates various minor design changes or production run of this propeller.

    Any pictures?-----Only difference between Johnson and Evinrude is the color of paint.-----You would have to swap your shift rod into the replacement gearcase and set the shift rod height.---Then give it a try.-----Is driveshaft 1/4" shorter or 7/8" shorter ?

    The model 60 with duel points was marketed in 1962 ( white ) to about 1968 or so .----Very nice running motor.-----Posting serial # gets you the year made.

    Weird short on one cylinder

    Kill switch grounds out the ignition and stops spark to both coils.-----But easy to split control box to have a look for bare wires.

    With a sheared key it would still have spark.----Test the charge coil and sensor coil.----Inspect pins / sockets at plug in connecters.

    Remember that towing CAPACITY is given for a vehicle that was new.----Once a vehicle has been subjected to wear and tear.----Salt in winter climates then frames and hitches may not be " like new " anymore.

    It is the turbo jet powerhead.----Might be a slight , very slight difference.----Block part # between turbo jet and outboard is different.------Could be as simple as a different threaded hole.-----No thread in a hole ----Porting and that does give it a different part #
