    It is an important part.-----Should be easy to find as it was used for many , many ( 50 ) years.----Or depending on your ingenuity make one using a piece of a brass bolt .----Drill and tap and you are done.----Easy to make parts for older motor.-----Much easier than new motors !!

    You want to test / put ignition through it paces.---See if it develops designed output.---So does spark jump a gap of 3/8" or more on each lead.----You can do yourself a favour by learning to do this test !!

    What motor / drive do you have ?----Many drives need the propeller turning or motor running for smooth shifting.---Less damage to gear box that way.

    Nope.----The vanes take a set over time.----Have you tested the overheat horn in the control box if if it has one.----With no tested overheat horn you are taking chances.

    Crankcase must be sealed with--- loctite 518---or equivalent.----No RTV to be used.----The question was-----Does spark jump a gap of 3/8" on all leads?----The question is not what kind of plugs are in the motor.----V-6 motors run remarkably well on 5 of 6 cylinders.

    What kind of sealer did you use when closing up the block ?---Does spark jump a gap of 3/8" on all leads ?----Wires from switch boxes hooked up to correct coils ?

    Cables can be put in either position in the box.----At the motor end the shift cable moves first.-----So hook it up / adjust shift linkage first.-----Motor must be running or propeller must be turned when operating the control box.

    Those inline 6 motors need a new impeller about every 2 or 3 years.----The noise is likely from mechanical issues caused from running on straight gas.-----Loose / scored piston comes to mind.

    Not at all.-----A 2 stroke wastes gas and oil !!----A new motor in 1981 wasted this gas and oil the same way that same motor wastes it today.-----I have said it many times " 2 stroke operation and lubrication is not well understood " .----And 50 years ago folks were confused by it and it appears...
