    The hydrogen storage might be and issue to some degree.-----Need to be very leakproof / leak tight.----Lake has lots of hydrogen.----But what does it cost / how to separate the hydrogen from the oxygen?.

    They built a lot of those motors so parts are not that hard to find.----First think I would check is the flywheel key.

    I see this as a wonderful opportunity to build a bomb proof transom.-----Make it 3" thick.----Cut back the stringers to fit.-----Speaking of stringers the core on them is likely rotten plywood too.

    Hot light on dash

    On many smaller outboard motors ( older motor from say the 60's & 70's ) there is no warning system or shutdown on overheat system.------You would get blisters on your tongue to explain that impellers need to be replaced.-----Motors will run till it is too late !!

    Regular maintenance - change just the impeller or entire housing too?

    As a young technician I used to keep old impellers to honestly show the old folks why they need to install a new one.---To save them $$$$ big time.-----Not any more.----I just kind of chuckle at the young folks these days.----Their mechanical smarts is on a decline.
